Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
